GREAT MEMORIES & lASTING CONNECTIONS

You never know how any connection can transform your life - you will meet people here that may result in lifelong friendships and collaborations.

  • The first session will be on Monday, January 1. All of these events, except for the quarterly events, will take place EVERY MONDAY STARTING IN 2024, on Zoom, from 6:00-7:00pm Mountain Time. It is not expected that you attend every single one.

  • No, my idea with running it weekly for the whole year is not to make it an overwhelming commitment, but rather to provide a consistent space. You can attend sessions as it makes sense for your schedule - it'll still be there for you to come back to. You get out of this experience what you want to put into it 🙂

  • I've seen many times where people feel more energized after they've had a great conversation on a meaningful topic - so I want to provide a space where people know they can get that dose of connection each week.

I realize that I know a lot of quality people from many different places, and it's always cool when people from different parts of my life can connect with one another. I see the Connection Club as a central location for me to bring together the different connections that I have, so that new friendships and collaborations can form.

I am running this Connection Club program on the principles of accessibility and inclusivity. It would be contradictory to the essence of connection if you felt excluded due to financial circumstances. This is an impact-focused initiative where I would like as many people as possible to be able to benefit. You can name a monthly amount and you will be enrolled into a monthly subscription.

HOW TO REGISTER

Please contact me at richard@excusestoconnect.com with the subject line: “Connection Club Subscription” and please include a monthly amount that you would want to pay. You will then be provided with a payment link that enrolls you into a monthly subscription, which you can cancel at any time.

MEET RICHARD LEE-THAI, YOUR CONNECTION CURATOR

Richard Lee-Thai is a TEDx Speaker who delivered a talk entitled “How to Find Excuses to Connect.” There are many examples of human connection, storytelling, and community building initiatives, but what they all have in common is finding an excuse to connect. Distilling these examples into 4 core principles, he shows how anyone can apply these principles to find their own excuses to connect. From conversation-based card games to challenging themselves to talk with a certain amount of people, it's all about making meaningful connections easier. He envisions a world where the term “excuse to connect” becomes part of our common vocabulary.

From his TEDx talk, Richard founded Excuses to Connect, a business focused on building connections through one-on-one coaching, podcasting, public speaking, and merchandise. As a Connection Coach and professional speaker, he supports individuals and organizations with building their social confidence and fostering communities where everyone feels like they belong.

Graduating with a BA from the University of Lethbridge, he was also the Founder of Humans of ULeth, a photojournalism project where his team interviewed people on campus and shared their diverse stories online. Wherever he goes, he firmly believes that collaboration, compassion, and connection can solve even the world's most challenging problems.

Richard’s philosophy on life is captured in his motto: "You never know how any connection can transform your life." His ultimate vision is to empower and connect Connectors, and together, we can transform our lives and the lives of others, one connection at a time.
